GeldKarte has established itself als so-called micropayment
On average, for nine payment transactions, there is one loading transaction
In 2010, about 157 million Euro were transferred into GeldKarte, that is approximately 28 Euro per loading transaction. In 1997, the average amount paid with the card was still around 5.6 Euro, whereas. it is about 3.02 Euro in 2010: GeldKarte has established itself as a popular way of paying small amounts.
After all, the GeldKarte has settled it's clear positioning as a micropayment, which is an important prerequisite for successful communication with customers. GeldKarte is, first and foremost, a card for use in automatic machines, i.e. for self-service points of sale. In 2009, it was used especially at public transport, parking lots as well as at cigarette machines.
