CityCards combine the convenient cashless payment offered by the GeldKarte with a bonus scheme.
Often CityCards are launched as white cards by retailers' associations and usually they are only available through these associations.
CityCards: What's in it for you?
A large number of German towns, such as Bonn, Braunschweig, Gaggenau, Giessen, Güstrow, Neustadt or Weinstadt offer their own CityCard: Shop and earn bonus points at the same time:
- In return for a purchase – which you might, but need not pay with your GeldKarte – you gain a certain amount of bonus points; these bonus points are stored in the microchip on your white card GeldKarte.
- You can collect these points and redeem them for products or services, depending on the bonus programme.
- On top there are often special offers and services only available for CityCard holders.
CityCards offer savings, cashless payment, and more service – all with the help of a single card!
More and more towns and cities are discovering the CityCard concept. Others are constantly adding further attractive functions to their existing CityCard systems.
